    CDR LaFave,

I have a difficult time reading your blogs because of the dark background. Or perhaps I am just blind.

Are you a grandpa yet? Details?

    Dian,

I’ve noticed with the dark background that it’s difficult to read the narrative if you have it expanded to the largest size. You have to scroll through to read all of the text. My brother, Doug, raised the same issue, so it seems to be only California people who are struggling with this, smile. (or perhaps, you’re the only ones reading it!)

My grandson, Leonard Abraham Schonefeld, IV (yeah, let’s just call him Leo or Lenny) is now almost 18 months old. Be careful (what you wish for) when you say to Melissa, “All I want you to do is graduate from college and get a good job.” Because she’ll do that, and then……

    Hey Diana & Greg/Doug,

Thanks for bringing light to this issue of darkness. :) I think it’s probably that your screen resolution is set to something higher than 1024×768… is that right? If you minimize your window to half the size of a full window, I think that might resolve your issue. Please let me know.

Well we had a fairly bad tropical storm and Jessie was scared and spent the night with me. I was so happy to have her with me. She slept until 2 the next day and sat up most of the night watching the Olympics and fed the ducks outside with me and at 3:30am we went out and watched the trees bend over in half together. She is a sweetheart big time. The next day the tropical storm really hit Middleburg and we received warnings to get out of any modular or mobil home so Nana, Jessie, Susie and Jake all rushed to my house until the warning was lifted. Now all we have is lots and lots of rain. Jessie did not have to go to school the rest of her first week and she was just beginning to settle into the routine.

August 22nd marked the 5th month of our loss and it was a day of crying. The next day Chrissy came flew in and we spent the day with Nana, Suzie, Jess and Jake and of course a short trip to the mall. We spoke of you and wished you were with us. Jessie said my dad put your birthdate on his web site and I said as long as it doesn’t say 50 that is ok with me, lol.

The other day I took her to cheerleading practice and we were waiting for the 6:00pm bell to roll around and Bently (my little dog) was in the front seat - saw all of these kids and went wild. He jumped out of the window and I had to chase him around the field to get him back and I do believe Jessie won’t be asking her Aunt Cindy to take her to another practice out of embarassment, lol. She was shaking her head and laughing while I was trying to catch him, it was very funny.

She misses you alot and speaks of you most every day. Our hearts are with you every moment. I am sorry the food is so SPACE like, actually it sounds awful. How do you with stand the heat of 139 degrees? Seriously I would faint. Is it humid or just dry as a bone? The conditions in which our men and women have to endure doesn’t sound very rewarding. Can we ship food to you or will they stop it? If we do where can it be shipped and how long will it take to get there?

    We love you Greg..
    Cindy

    Hey Cuz,

I have the same problem reading everything with the dark background on your website and I am from Texas…..not California….so that ploy won’t work with me. So watch what you say…..lol. No, don’t know why the background is dark like that on here. It does make it hard to read everything clearly. Hope everything going good for you….we miss ya. All I see is sand and more sand in the pics. Reminds me of the exercises we used to do in the Mojave desert in the 80’s. Hopefully we can have another great big family reunion in a year or so. The last one was great to see everyone together again in one place.

Also, congratulations Gramps…..I don’t remember if I ever told you. He is a great looking grandson. What’s funny is that my baby son is younger than your grandchild. What’s wrong with that picture. I will tell you what is wrong with that picture. I realized that I will be almost 60 years old when my baby son Christian graduates high school….that is what is wrong with that…..lol. Hope I can still move and show him then how to shoot a basketball well because he probably will be six foot eight or taller at the rate he is growing. Come back safe my man. Say hi to your girls for me.

    Love Ya,
    Dan

    Dan,

Go to the “Site Info” section of the blog for guidance on overcoming the dark side, and/or try changing the size of what your viewing (the little boxes next to the minimize dash thingy).

Hey, the next family gathering is in Nags Head, NC, the week of July 11, 2009! Love ya more!
