SLUGGO’s COMMENTS: That’s my good friend and confidante, Cindy Toda (CT). We go way back, as many of you know, to JU (our alma mater, or as James Sullivan “Douchbag” O’Keefe would say, “The Harvard of the South”, and then someone, usually Luci, always says, “swish, shish” and wiggles their hands in a dolphin fin-like motion, an obvious derogatory gesture toward our 55 year old mascot, Nellie).
But, back to Cindy. This is such a gracious gesture on her part. One she began in March 2008 (and in true LaFave fashion, I procrastinated for months on my part, until I was BOG (”Boots On Ground”). She’s the true wizzard behind the curtain - I am a mere “toto” to her “Toda”. She now has Superstar status in my eyes.
More on Cindy. I think this is her way of saying, “I offer my friendship and support” …….but more in the manner of, “This is what I can do for you,” as opposed to, “Where do I sign up?” And I am eternally grateful. We all know it’s crazy out there (and here), so let’s enjoy the ride.
Stay plugged in, while Cindy “monitors”, and I’ll check in as often as possible. Just remember, though, that my 10th grade gym teacher, the great “Dard”, always used to say, “Look, ‘no credit’ LaFave decided to show today!” Also remember, there’s no alcohol in theatre, so I’m feeling a bit parched.
Peace & Love to all, Sluggo (”Gregory” to Grandma Maisy, but she’s long gone)

You rock, baby! This is awesome!
Greggie Poo,
Rest easy, Greg, Nellie still lives! It was just last year that a gang from JU went down to Marineland to help her celebrate her 55th birthday. You’re almost as old as she is! LOL
Love your website!

I miss you Daddy and I hope you like my pictures. Elizabeth Jane LaFave
This website is cool. keep up the good work. stay safe!
This is just a way to make sure I’m on the list of postcards you send from wherever you may be! An easy way for you to keep in touch with everyone that loves you… and vica versa. You may be a world away, but this will keep us up close and personal, like you like your coffee.
I love your writing, I love your insight. Thanks G. xo, ct
CT - You made it happen, Superstar! And you write pretty damn good yourself! BTW, I gave up coffee May 1st. But I still like my peoples up close and personal!
Daughter #3 - Beautiful photos…can I post them? Love, Dad
DJ - Thanks for keeping me honest; expect a mod!
America, the beautiful - My terrific editor and I are working on photos, but we can’t compete with your MySpace collection!
It’s so great to hear from you. You just don’t know how many times Rick & I have wondered where and how you are. Keep safe!
Gregg.
Kaitlin is turning 20. I know that I’m like your favorite niece and all, I understand it’s easy to forget that kind of stuff with such a wonderful person in your life. But I figured you should know that. I’m really missing you over here, but it’s inspired me to write. It’s going to be a best selling book to be exact. In the works though. I love you.
Maura,
I’m your favorite uncle and you can’t even spell my name?? OK, thanks for the hot tip on Kait’s age - I fixed it. You noticed on the birthday comments I said, “my favorite sister’s daughter”, rather than my favorite niece! You’ve got to stay on your toes, Stormy! BTW, I can’t get on MySpace. Love ya, GREG
Sluggo!
Great to have a channel to keep in touch. Send your postage address.
Bridget is due in 6 days, Dash-2…Joseph Oscar. Pix very soon.
Flew a Herc trip thru KNZY out to San Clemente yesterday. Had to hold short for a section of “Landslides”–the new “S” models. Good memories, my friend.
Be sharp. Be safe.

DR Dave,
Great to hear from you! How’s Manhattan Beach treating you, my friend? Best of luck on Dash 2; of course, Bridget has to do all the work!
Hey Greg,
Think you got those Christmas cards out early enough?!! But then, you can always be counted on for giving good mail. Just wanted to say Merry Christmas before the crush of the season took over. Hope all is well. Hope to hear from you soon.
Love,
Rod and Denise
Damn, Denise, there was this big sign at the Base Post Office that said, “Mail your shit by Thanksgiving if you want it there by Christmas,” or words to that effect, and it was like the 11th of November and I was getting ready to go to Afghanistan, so I spent an all-nighter writing out cards! Also, I figured no one would have my address. Happy New Year, smile!
Thank you for this blog. My son arrived at Balad on Sunday. He was stationed in England and wanted to go somewhere dry and warm. I think he found it.
